Adding and Subtracting Fractions: What we learned this week
1. When the denominators are different, ask yourself if the smaller denominator can be changed (multiplied) to match the larger.
2. If it can, multiply the denominator by the number needed to make them match.
3. Whatever you do to the BOTTOM of the fraction, you must do to the TOP. Multiply the numerator by the same number you used the change the denominator.
4. Add/subtract, then reduce if needed.
