Topics on this Quiz
●Understand and interpret boxplots
○IQR, Q1 and Q3, amount of data in a given interval (quarters)
●Know how to find Outliers
○We do this using the 1.5 x IQR rule
○Find limits for high and low outliers
●Know how to find Percentile
○Percentile: the percentage of data below a given value in a dataset
●Know how to find z-score
○Z-score: the number of Standard Deviations away a given point is ain a dataset
○Know the equation for z-score
○Know how to find a given value from z - score
3
Find median, and then find halfway points of median, these are Q1 and Q3,
Each section of the data has 1 quarter of the data
Any dots outside of the box and whiskers is an outlier

To find outliers for a given set of data, we use 1.5 x IQR rule
High Outliers > Q3 + (1.5 x IQR)
Low Outliers < Q1 - (1.5 x IQR)
The following set of data is the weight of puppies in a kennel, here are their weights: 50,60,63,65,70,71,75,100
Using the equations, calculate if 100 is an outlier
6
Draw
Find if 100 is an outlier, show work
7
Percentile: the percentage of values below a given value in a dataset
EX: I have a 20 student class and my score was better than 18/20 of my classmates, I scored in the 90th percentile
Make sure to round to the nearest whole number, PERCENTILE IS NOT PERCENTAGE
Find the percentile of the 100 lb puppy:
50,60,63,65,70,71,75,100
8
Fill in the Blanks
Find the percentile of the 100lb puppy from the given dataset

Z-Score is the measure of how many standard deviations a given values is from the mean
Example from Notes: A class takes a test and the mean score was 80% with a standard deviation of 10. Mr. B got a 90%, whats his z-Score? It is 1
The equation for z-score is as follows:
..
..
.
.
Where "X" is Mr. B's score, "x̄" is the mean of the data, and s (usually Sx) is the standard deviation
10
Fill in the Blanks
Mr. B's class recently took an exam that went incredibly well, the mean score (class average) was a 91% with a standard deviaton (Sx) of 7. Find Drake's z-score who got a 77% on the exam.
