Cold fronts are one of the 4 types of fronts. They happen when a cold air mass and a warm air mass collide. When they collide the warmer air mass goes over the colder air mass and the cold air mass keeps on going forward. They usually bring thunderstorms and snowstorms.

Stationary fronts are quite simple. They are formed when a cold front and a warm front run into each other but neither are powerful enough to move the other. Instead, they just sit there until both dissipate and stop. Rain and snow often fall.
