influenced by your peers to act or do
something in a certain way.

or go to school with. They are in your
social circle, similar age or similar
interests.

Peer pressure is not always a bad thing.
Negative peer pressure
• When a person is influenced by their
peers to behave in a positive way.
• For example:
• If your friend group in school wants to
achieve good marks this term, you may
be positively influenced to work and
study harder.
• When a person is influenced by their
peers to carry out negative actions that
might be against their morals and
values.
• For example:
• Your friends skip school for the day.
You don’t want them to think negatively
of you so you skip school with them.
