When looking at texture we almost seem to "feel" it.
Through association, we may see it with both our eyes and our fingers.

Creating Texture with Patterns
Filling a shape with a design or pattern will not necessarily create the illusion of texture.
Your pattern needs to follow the surface of the shape and wrap around it.

On your handout:
Choose 4 of the 9 listed textures and label each box. Get a reference sheet to help you!
Fill each box with one of your chosen textures using a pencil. Consider the following:
*Work on 1 texture at a time
*Analyze the the reference image! What kind of strokes/shading can be used? Are there defined shapes and textures?
*Use a very sharp pencil to get little details.
