Progressive Verbs

• They are used to show that something is progressing, or continuing, over time

• Ex: Right now we are walking through the gate at Epic Island Amusement Park.

Past Progressive Verbs

• Show an action continued over time in the past

• Ex: I was talking to Benjamin.

• Helping verbs used for past progressive: was, were

• Use was if the subject is singular (one)

• Use were if the subject is plural (more than one)
