Palm Oil Production process

the oil winning process, in summary involves the reception of fresh fruit bunches from the plantations, sterilizing and threshing of the bunches to free the palm fruit and pressing out crude palm oil. The crude palm oil is further treated to purify and dry it for storage and export.

​Large conversion of tropical forests to oil palm plantations has a devastating effect on habitats and endangered animals like orangutans, elephants, sumatran rhinos, pygmy ect. it also leads to an increase in human-wildlife conficts populations oflarge animals are squezed into icresingly isolated fragements of natural habitats.

​Many companies are appropiately using the least amount of palm oil in products as they can. There are only three companies that do this MSPO(Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil Production), ISPO(Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil) and RSPO(Roundtable Sustainable Palm Oil Production) they not only use small amounts of palm oil they also appropiately farm it so it causes no damage to the environment. The government is also thinking of a plan to ban oil palm production.
