Written Response 2

The air temperature in Lüderitz is colder because the two cities have different ocean currents. A cold ocean current from the South Pole is being pushed toward Lüderitz where the sun transfers very little energy to the surface. The ocean is colder than the air of Lüderitz, so the air transfers energy to the ocean. The wind near the equator pushes a warm ocean current toward Santos where the sun transfers the most energy to the surface. The ocean water is much warmer than the air of Santos, so the ocean transfers energy to the air. This makes the air warmer.
