Linear motion refers to the movement of an object in a straight line at a constant speed, with no change in direction.

Examples:

  1. A car driving on a straight road at a constant speed.

  2. A train moving in a straight line on a track.

Non-linear motion refers to the movement of an object that does not follow a straight line, or moves at varying speeds or changes direction.

Examples:

  1. A car driving on a curvy road, where the direction of the car changes frequently.

  2. A ball thrown with air resistance, where the speed and direction of the ball changes over time.

Rotational motion refers to the movement of an object around an axis or a fixed point.

Examples:

  1. A Ferris wheel: the riders move in a circular path around a central axis, but the entire wheel also rotates around its central axis.

  2. A spinning top: the top spins around its central axis.
