Place value is where the digit of number placed.

Before talking about place value. I want you to
know about the different of NUMBER AND DIGIT.

NUMBER can be counted.

DIGIT is a figure of a number and has no meaning.

Value is the amount of a number which shown by
a digit in the place value.

Note:
Pay attention to the place value of hundreds.
 The place value of digit 5 is hundreds. But to read it,

you don’t need to add -s after the word hundred.
You just read it ‘five hundred’ (without ‘s’)
