Today's Lesson :
Linear, Rotational motion and Forces
2
To Know that both of the motion are results of Translational and rotational Forces
2
To Differntiate Between Linear and rotational Movement
1
Lesson Goals
3
When a body is rotating about an axis
Rotational Motion
when a body moves on a straight line (Linear Movement)
Linear Motion
Body Movement in nature can set into Two Categories :
4
Here we have an example of a skater who applies a force with one oh his legs to keep moving straight forward (Linear Movement)
Linear Motion
If Any object is spinning around it's axis or rotating about an axis, This angular movement is called a (rotation)
Rotational Motion
5
Motion Due To Forces
All the bodies moving needs a force that results in the motion, and such forces are explained in the next slide.
6
A Translational Force results in linear motion
and can be calculated from the following equation :
F = m X a
Translational Force
An angular force is named a Torque to differnitaite fron the translation, It can be calculated from the following equation :
T = F X r
Angular Force
7
Multiple Choice
If a body is moving on a straight lin, what can we call this type of motion
Rotational Motion
both a Linear & Angular motion
Linear Motion
No movement
8
Multiple Choice
if a man is rotating a ball attached to a string, what can we call This Type of motion
Linear Motion
Both Linear and Rotational Motion
No Movement
Rotational Motion
9
Fill in the Blank
10
Multiple Choice
what is the equation for Translational force
F = m X a
T = F X r
W = F X d
V = d / t
