​Types Of Farms

​ There are different types of farms. The first is family farms, they are run by families. Unfortunately though some people leave the farming way of life due to money. The second is Agribusinesses. They are run by big businesses.

​Farms Are Changing

​ Over 100/200 years farms have changed. Today technology helps farmers plant and harvest crops but it wasn't always like that. A long time ago it would take 300 hours to make 100 bushels of wheat, and for modern farms it takes a little less than 4 hours. Today there aren't as many

farms though.

​A Few Things Used To Help Farm

  • Tractors- They are very strong and can pull more weight than even 100 horses

  • Milking machine- It milks cows faster then hands do

  • Plows- It plows the fields. No animals needed

  • Pesticides & fertilizers- They help keep the plants alive but unfortunately they can end up in rivers and lakes, and then can hurt animals

Over the years farms have changed in many ways. Technology has evolved and has made farming easier. fertilizers and pesticides are used to help grow crops but can harm animals. There are some family farms and agribusinesses.
