Good food for your Border Collie! :D

What is important is that you feed your Border Collie a balanced diet. A raw diet
includes raw meat, raw vegetables, raw, meaty bones, fish, muscle meats, fish,
and dairy products such as eggs.

Bad food that can poison your Border Collie! D:

Tomatoes, garlic, mushrooms, and even avocados are some of the things which can prove deadly and toxic to your Border
Collie. Also, avoid corn. It will make your dog feel stiff and will have a hard time trying to process it. Grain is not
recommended as Border Collies find it difficult to digest and many are allergic to them.

Good behavior your dog does! :D

The breed is highly intelligent, learns quickly and responds well to praise. Because of their herding instincts, they are
protective of their family and territory and make excellent watchdogs. They will look out for the family kids.

Border Collies have long been considered the most intelligent dogs on earth, but also the most mentally complex. Owners
may be presented with many behavioural issues ranging from obsessive patterns of activity to a host of different anxieties,

Bramble!

Are you familiar with Bramble the veggie-eating Border Collie from the United Kingdom who lived to the ripe age of 25 years old? This is over 175
“dog years” which is considered to be nearly double the average lifespan of Border Collies who typically live for 12-15 years.

Bramble was awarded the Guinness World Record for being the oldest living dog during her time. And do you know what her parent claimed as the
reason for her incredible lifespan? A daily nourishment of a vegan diet that consisted of brown rice, lentils, yeast, veggies, and soy (textured vegetable
protein).

Let’s take a look at the lessons we can learn from Bramble and her pet parent Anne Heritage.

Bramble’s Diet & Lifestyle

Anne Heritage, Bramble’s owner fed her a vegan diet that was based on brown rice, lentils, yeast flakes, mixed vegetables, and soy.In addition to a well-rounded and
healthy diet, Bramble also enjoyed daily walks and play sessions. Anne made sure to give Bramble plenty of love and attention throughout her life.

Recent studies have confirmed the effectiveness of complete vegan diets for dogs, but Bramble was born in 1975 when this type of data wasn’t readily available.
Bramble’s parent, Anne Heritage believed that companion animals should be treated with dignity and didn’t believe commercial pet foods at the time effectively cared
for the animals they fed but were also detrimental to the animals slaughtered as well as the environment.

Anne fed Bramble a vegan diet because she herself was a vegan and she didn’t believe in feeding her animals anything that she wouldn’t eat herself. Anne provided
Bramble with a healthy diet that she consumed only once a day but she also believed that Bramble should receive at least two hours of exercise or play per day when
possible.

We applaud Anne’s passion for providing the best diet and lifestyle possible to Bramble and we have used her story as inspiration while developing Wild Earth Dog
Food. We believe it is possible to provide dogs with clean protein dog food that is cruelty-free and strives to maintain and protect the environment around us.

Fun facts!

They Are Champion Herders, Border Collies were originally bred to herd sheep. They excel at the task because of their strength, stamina,
intelligence, and work ethic. Border Collies are famous for using “the eye”— staring intensely at members of the flock to intimidate them. Good

Researchers spent three years working on the dog's vocabulary. Their stunning flashes of brilliance and creativity are reminders that they may not
be Einsteins but are sure closer to humans than we thought.” According to several behavioral measures, Coren says dogs' mental abilities are
close to a human child age 2 to 2.5 years. Barking. The Border Collie is a barking breed. They are easily visually stimulated which is often why
they bark so much. They will bark at anything that moves quickly, such as bikes, skateboards and the like. Border Collies are naturally very loyal
and devoted, always keen to please their owners. This attitude transfers into cuddles and affection too! They often never leave their owners' side
and love to snuggle up at the end of an active day. Thankfully, Collies actually do love to swim, and many of them will volunteer to jump into a
river or a lake if they get the chance. They might even choose to swim in your pool if you don't train them not to do so. Border collies are often like
fish. Their instinct for water is that strong. They come from a cross between a Roman breed and a Viking breed. Although the Border Collie was
bred along the border between Scotland and England, they do not come from either a Scottish or English breed. Instead, the Border Collie is
actually a mix of a Roman herding breed and a Viking Spitz-variety herding breed. And on occasion, what may not seem provocative to the victim
may well, in fact, be something that would provoke the dog to bite. This is particularly true in dogs with a history of biting attacks on people.
Recently I received an email from an owner whose border collie attacked her 13-year-old daughter.
