What consists of the events:
Written Exam/Objective Test: (consists of 50 questions)
-Objective: To determine the team members broad
understanding of the vet science field
EX: Genetics, Nutrition, Med Records, Anatomy/Physiology
Math Applications Exam: (50 points)(# of questions vary)
- Objective: To determine the team's understanding on
how to calculate certain medication or nutritional needs
EX: Dose calculations, dilutions, cost calculation, conversions

What consists of the events:
Identification: (100 points total)
-Objective: To determine the team members broad
understanding of equipment, parasites, breeds/species
●Equipment (50 points)
●Parasites/microscopic (30 points)
●Breeds (20 points)
Current Event: (100 Points)
-Objective: allow students to use critical thinking skills
EX: students are given a topic before the contest date and and
give their response to a judge then get another topic and have
15 minutes to prepare

What consists of the events:
Practicums: (160 points) total- 2 each
-Clinical Procedure Practicum (100 points)
EX: -administering Aural medication
-bandage removal
-filling syringe for injection
-Prescription filling
-Handling and Restraining Practicum (60 points)
EX: -Applying a Cat Muzzle
-Placing a Tail Tie
-Team Activity: (500 points)
-Objective: Team members will give there explanation to
judges based on conducting research from local vets. They are
given 15 minutes to present they diagnostics and
recommendations.

Pursuing in vet science:
- participating in this CDE will give students a better understanding of what the
veterinary field is all about
-you will grow in the anatomy/physiology, health/safety, medical terms, clinical
procedures, and math
Students will also gain everyday learning skills like….
