You add -s, -es, -ies to the main verb.

-s, -es, or -ies?

  • Add -s to most of the verbs.

    • play - plays / work - works / listen - listens.

  • Add -es to verbs that end in: -ch, -s, -sh, -x, -o, -z.

    • watch - watches / pass - passes / finish - finishes / mix - mixes / go - goes / buzz - buzzes.

  • Add -ies to verbs that end in a consonant + y by replacing the "y" with the "i".

    • study - studies / fly - flies.
