1. Describe how sounds change when the sound source is hear or far away.
2. Use equipment safely when doing practical work.
Set Induction (5 mins)
1. W: Introduce the picture of a man on the boat. Prompt S to think why no one can hear the man.
2. W: Have a discussion about the picture. Encourage S to think about their life experience when the sound source is far/near.
Lesson Development
Activity 1: Teaching concepts (15 mins)
1. W: Introduce that sound travels.
2. W: Show S the picture in learner’s book, explain the volume of the sound.
Activity 2: Thinking like a scientist (20 mins)
1. W: Conduct a simple demonstration with the class. Have some S to stand outside the classroom/in the toilet, have another group of students to read the poem. Ask S if they are able to hear the poem clearly. Exchange the two groups/location and try with another poem.
2. T: Introduce thinking like a scientist activity. Have 4 volunteers to role-play like the activity.
3. W: Guide S to make their prediction.
4. G: Conduct the activity, have S to share if the prediction was correct.

Activity 3: Take care of ears (15 mins)
1. W: Discuss ways to protect our ears.

John was an adventurer who loved nothing more than exploring the open waters on his sailboat. As he set out on his latest journey, he felt exhilarated. The sun was shining, the wind was blowing, and the water was calm.
Suddenly, a strong gust of wind caught the sails, and John lost control of the boat. The boat began to tip, and water started to pour in.
John tried to right the boat, but it was too late. The boat sank, and John was thrown into the water. He struggled to stay afloat and shouted for help...
