Imperative sentences

What is imperative sentence?

• a sentence to give instructions

• to ask people to do something

Example sentences:

• Eat your rice.

• Do not go there.

• Write down the date.

• Sit down.

How to know if it is an imperative sentence?

• sentence always starts with based form of verb.

• eg: sit, go, stand, do not, write

We can also add please to the sentence:

• Please eat your rice.

• Please write down the date.

• Please sit down.

• Please stand up.
