Transferable Skills 101

What are they?

Transferable skills are skills and abilities a person has that can be used in a variety of roles or occupations.

Example: If someone has good leadership skills, they are able to take charge and motivate others to achieve goals! This can be seen as a benefit in many careers or organizations.

Your ability to describe your own transferable skills can make you profitable. This is a bonus during college and career interviews.

When to use it?

You will learn new skills on most jobs. When you already have these skills your employer doesn't have to train you on them.
