Exponents

Do you know what exponents are? Well, If you don't, you are in the right place. First, let's start with the basics. Pretend you see, 5 to the power of 5. You multiply. Except, something different. You don't do this: 5x5. You do something different. As you see the power is 5, so you, will multiply 5, 5 times. Let me show you: 5x5= 25 =First time 25x5= 125= Second time. And it gets more interesting.

Try solving these these simple problems.

5 to the power of 2

5 to the power of 4

Wheel-o 10's

When you do exponents with 10s, there is a little trick that could help you a lot. First, let's make up for the problem. For instance, 10 to the power of 6. Write 1, then write the zeros. In this case, it is 6 zeros. (The amount of zeros is our power.)

You are ready for Exponents!
