Long Division

Polynomial by binomial

2

Poll

How do you divide?

3

Solution step by step

Step 1: Arrange the polynomial dividend and binomial divisor in descending order of degree.

Step 2: Divide the dividend's first term by the divisor's first term. This gives the first term of the quotient.

Step 3: Multiply the entire divisor by the first term of the quotient.

Step 4: Subtract the product obtained in Step 3 from the dividend.

Step 5: Bring down the next term of the dividend.

Step 6: Repeat steps 2 to 5 until all terms of the dividend have been processed.

Step 7: The resulting terms form the quotient, while any remaining terms constitute the remainder.
