What is Geography?
Geography is the scientific study of the Earth and is one of the original disciplines along with philosophy in trying to understand the world and humans live in.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PHYSICAL AND HUMAN GEOGRAPHY?
- Human: The scientific credibility to look at cultural issues of economics, demographics, culture, language, religion, or urban planning
- Physical: Focus on climate, climate change, biogeography, geomorphology, or environmental issues of pollution, desertification, deforestation, or species extinction

TIME ZONES
The term time zone can be used to describe several different things, but mostly it refers to the local time of a region or a country.

SCALE:
SCALE has TWO separate meanings in geography: (1) Cartographic Scale - the measurement on a map (ratio of space on map to space on the globe); and (2) Geographic Scale - hierarchy of spaces.
GEOGRAPHIC SCALE -Refers to a conceptual hierarchy of spaces, from small to large that reflects actual levels of organization in the real world.
