What is an adjective?

An adjective describes a noun or pronoun such as person, place, thing or idea.

The position of adjectives in a sentence.

In English language, it is very important to put the adjective in the correct place.

We place adjectives before the noun that they describe.

• A hot day

• A French city

• A red ball

• An international student

• Good students

In sentences with the verb to be , we place the adjective after the verb.

• Alyssa is beautiful.

• SIngapore City is clean.

• Students are hard-working.

• People are nice.
