Absolute Monarchy = is a form of monarchy in which the monarch holds supreme autocratic authority,
King Louis XIV of France and his reign as King is a perfect example of an absolute Monarchy.

Was the Social Hierarchy system in France before 1789
Citizens of France were divided into 3 classes or "Estates"
1. First Estate: The Clergy
2. Second Estate: The Nobles
3. Third Estate: Middle class, the working class, and peasants.

Social Injustice
The third estate was unhappy
They felt they were "carrying" the First and Second Estates.
The rich depended on the their money, since the third estate paid all the taxes

An increase among the female French population led to the Women's March on Versailles
Women marched to the Palace of Versailles with loaves of bread and pitchforks
The anger grew. The angry mob demanded that the King and his family be moved out of the palace to Paris for change.
The King was dethroned and his death marked a new era of democracy for France.
