Modal verbs

To talk about what we can do, we use the verb "poder" (to be able to / to can). Poder is a stem-changing verb, which means that the vowel before the ending changes.

Poder is usually followed by an infinitive to form sentences:

Ex. No puedo estudiar - I can't study

We use the future tense to talk about things that we are are going to do. To form the future we need:

1. The present of the verb "ir" (to go)

2. "a"

3. The infinitive (form of the verb that means "to...")

Fill in the gap with the correct person of the verb "ir" to form the near future

To give advice in Spanish we use the phrases "se debería" (you/one should) and "no se debería"(you/one should not)​.

Giving advice

• "(No) se debería" is always followed by an infinitive (-ar / -er / -ir verb)

Ex. Se debería reciclar más You/one should recycle more
