41. 1st Grade SRR: Chicks Hatch

What is in the eggs? Chicks! Pip! Pip! Pip! This is it! Chicks will hatch. The chicks will peck at the egg shells to get out.

Chicks will hatch. Pip! Pip! Pip! Chicks peck their shells. They can pop right out. Then little chicks will get big.

Their mom is a big red hen. Where is Mom Hen? There is Mom Hen! Chicks walk with Mom Hen. Mom Hen pecks for bugs with her chicks.

Chicks run, dig, and peck. Chicks catch bugs. Quick, chicks! Get them! Pick, peck! Catch big bugs! Yum, bugs! Eat them and get big!

Chicks eat mash in a dish. Chicks hop up to the dish. Quick, chicks! Chicks get wet. Chicks can make a big mess, but they will get big.

Then chicks will nap. Mom Hen tucks in her chicks. Nap well, chicks! Nap and get big.
