My name is Grace. I’m in a big town with my mom and dad. We walk through huge crowds. There is so much to see! Wow!
Buses, trucks, and cars zoom by so fast. Many of these cars are yellow. The yellow cars are cabs. Beep-beep! People are in such a hurry in this place! It sings with loud sounds, and to me, it is just perfect!.

We walk past an art store that sells paintings and art objects. The next store we pass is a bookstore with books and old maps.
I peek in a store window and see a pretty blue gown hanging next to blouses on racks. We go into this store to see if Mom will get a new scarf.

“Grace, look out,” Mom says in a loud voice as I start to step down from the curb.
I see the sign that looks like a red hand. It means Don’t Walk. I stop right there.
We watch cars drive past us. I can’t count them or all the people on bikes.
“Now we can go,” Dad tells us. We look right and left before we step off the curb.
5
Mom, Dad, and I needed to eat and sit for a while, but where would we go?
Dad had an answer! “I can use a map on my cell,” he said, tilting it so that Mom and I could see. “It will help us find a good place to eat and show us how to get there.” In no time, Dad had found a place for us to eat and had a map that led right to it.

I sniff the air. I smell something good!
“I know where we can go,” I told Mom and Dad. “It can’t be too far! Let’s follow our noses.”
My nose led us to the right place. I pointed out the shop to Mom and Dad.
“Here we are!” I said. “I hope the food is as good to eat as it is to smell!”
