“This was fun,” said Kate, “but we should go before it gets too late.”

“Shall we take this path back?” Dave asks Kate, Liz, and Tuck. “It can be one last thing we do on this trip. It will be fun.”

“This path is like me, Dave,” Kate said with a grin. “It twists this way and that, just as I do when I walk.”

“I like this place, Dave,” Liz tells him. “The red plant and the red rocks make it so pretty!

“Can our pace be less fast?” asked Tuck. “This is not a big race, is it?”

“It is better to go at a safe pace with backpacks and things to take back to the truck with us,” Liz adds.

The path twists up and back. Liz stops. Dave, Kate, and Tuck stop.

“This is not right,” Liz tells her pals. “That is the same red plant and the same red rocks. We are lost. We should check the map.”

Dave gets his map, but it rips.

Kate is upset. “What will we do?” she asks. “We are lost. This path is like a maze. Who will help us?”

“I will!” Dave tells them. “I can fly over the path and help you get out.”

Dave gives his backpack and hat to Liz and Tuck. Then he begins to fly up over the path. He leads his pals back to the pickup truck.

“I can see it!” Tuck yells. “We made it! This was our best trip yet.”
