71. 1st Grade SRR: Lost Cat

Miss Rose is upset. She calls Mom on the phone. “I cannot find Hope. She is lost. Can you help me find her?”

“That is a shame!” Mom tells her. “We will help in any way we can.

Mom, Dad, and Phil do a lot to help Miss Rose. They hunt up and down, but still no Hope. Miss Rose, Phil, Mom, and Dad are all sad, but they will not give up.

“Where did she go?” asks Phil.

At home, Phil tells his mom and dad about his plan to help Miss Rose. He draws Hope and writes Lost Cat.

He shows Mom and Dad. They will walk the block with him to ask about Hope.

Phil goes to homes on the block. He knocks and asks, “Did you see this cat?” He knocks and knocks, but he has no luck.

Phil does not know what to do. He wants to help Miss Rose.

On the way back home, they stop off at Miss Rose’s. Miss Rose hugs Phil and tells him she likes what he wrote. “That was so nice, Phil!”

Then she adds, “Hope likes to hide. She may even be close.”

“That is it! Hope likes to hide!” Phil yells. He smiles at Miss Rose. “I know where she may be, Miss Rose!” Then Phil runs as fast as he can back to the shed.
