“Let’s get started on fish badges next,” June tells the Quack Pack. “Fish zigzag. Ducks must swim fast to catch fish.”

Quack Pack ducks dive into the lake, but not Pete. Pete sits up on a bridge. He is sad, but he will not swim.

Pete spots something in the thick grass in the lake. He spots lots of fish! Pete runs to the Quack Pack to tell them.

“I see fish! Fish at the bridge!” Pete yells as he points to the spot. “Let’s go get some fish, Quack Pack!”

The Quack Pack ducks swim to the bridge. Fish zigzag in the thick lake grass. Quack Pack ducks catch them.

One huge fish jumps up, close to Pete. He runs after it. He is in luck! He slips in some mud, but he gets his fish!

Doc Gene smiles at the Quack Pack. “Nice job! Pete did not swim, but he got a fish, and you all get fish badges.”

“Pete just showed us a Quack Pack rule,” June adds. “He was a pal to other ducks. He helped you find fish to catch.”

Mud still drips off of Pete when he gets home. Mom looks at him and quacks, “Ducks must look fine at all times. It is a Quack Pack rule! Into the bath with you, Pete!” she quacked.

“Don’t get me wet, Mom!” said Pete.

“But, Pete, we are ducks. A duck is an animal that must swim to eat, and you cannot swim if you won’t get wet.”

Mom sets him in the tub. Pete sits and then starts to kick a bit. “I like this!” Pete quacks. “I may get my swim badge yet!”
