85. 1st Grade SRR: Will it Be Fun

“Eat your oatmeal, Luke,” said Rose. “Mom is going to shop. She said we can go along.”

“I don’t like to shop,” groaned Luke. “It’s not fun!”

“It will be fun. Just wait,” said Rose.

“Let’s go, children,” said Mom. “It may rain, so grab your raincoats.”

Mom, Luke, and Rose walked down the road. Raindrops fell on them.

“We’ll get soaked!” yelled Luke.

“We’ll need boats,” added Mom.

“This is where we will shop,” said Mom. Rose and Luke saw rows of tents filled with crafts, plants, and things to eat.

“See, Luke?” said Rose. “This is not dull.” Luke gave a little smile.

“Look in that pen, Mom!” said Rose. “I see a mother goat with spots and a little white goat. May we pat them?”

“That man owns them,” said Mom. “Go talk with him.”

Rose spoke with the man. “May we please pat these goats?” she asked.

“Yes,” he said. “This is Coal. She is the mother. The white goat is Snow.”

“Snow is so cute,” said Rose. “Coal is so sweet.”

The man let Rose and Luke feed treats to Snow. Rose felt Snow’s lips pick them off her hand.

“I didn’t know it would be so much fun to shop!” gushed Luke. He gave Rose a big grin.
