The English Alphabet
The Alphabet has 26 letters.
8
Just like the way you speak,
letters also do by making
sounds
9
Sounds of the letters :
10
Let’s associate letters with
their sounds.
11
Extended Learning:
When letters come together, they make a
word.
A word is made when two or more
letters come together.
12
Extended Learning:
When words are made, you do not need to
call the letters by their name rather you
use their sound. For example:
M +a +n = man
P +e +t =pet
F +i +sh =fish
13
Extended Learning:
There are some words that can be called
using their letter names and sounds.
These words are called
“Tricky words.”
Examples are:
I, she, he, be, we and
me.
14
Extended Learning:
When two or more words come together,
they make a sentence.
For example:
I +am + a+ boy =I am a boy.
It +is + my + pen = It is my pen.
15
Extended Learning:
A good sentence must begin with a
capital letter and end with a full-stop.
Capital letters are the letter names and
full-stop is a dot(.) that shows the end
of your sentence.
I am a boy.
