Airport vocabulary

Depature

is a building at an airport where passengers purchase tickets; transfer their luggage; go through security.

the area in an airport where arriving passengers collect luggage that has been transported in the hold of the aircraft.

​the part of an airport that deals with passengers who are arriving.

​Arrivals

checking travelers for things like whether they have the right documents to be in the country, whether they’re legally allowed to be there, and whether they’re bringing anything illegal with them.

Customs

​You go to the desk and report that you have arrived.
