How do we talk about past actions?
We use ( Simple Past)

When do we use Simple Past?
To talk about things that ended in the past and we want to say the time.

We have to write the verb in a different way.
To be --> was / were
To buy--> bought
To get --> got
IRREGULAR VERBS
We usually add -ed to the end of the verb.
To stay --> stayed
To jump --> jumped
To live --> lived

How do we form the Past Simple?
Subject ( noun e.g Ali or pronoun e.g he)
Verb ( in past - usually with ed ( e.g played )
Object
Time (e.g yesterday - last week - 2015 )

She kissed me on the cheek.

Past Simple: Negative
For negative sentences we use the auxiliary verb DID+NOT = DIDN'T
The verb doesn't change when we use DIDN'T.
She didn't go to the party.
We didn't study for the test.

What if someone did not do that in the past?
We use ( did ) after the subject and then we can add ( not ) ..
did not / didn't
Remember: the main verb should be in present NOW. ( play not played )

Notice we don't change the verb in negative sentences.
The verb only changes in affirmative sentences.
