ถามและตอบเป็นเรื่องเดียวกัน หมายถึง เนื้อเรื่องที่กำลังอ่านอยู่นั้นต้องเชื่อมโยงเป็นเรื่องเดียวกัน
ใครพูดกับใคร ให้รู้กาลเทศะ ซึ่งในเรื่องนี้จะเกี่ยวข้องกับระดับของภาษาที่ใช้ เช่น เพื่อนคุยกับเพื่อน เด็กคุยกับผู้ใหญ่ นิสิตหรือนักศึกษาคุยกับอาจารย์ เจ้านายคุยกับลูกน้อง เป็นต้น ระดับของภาษาก็จะแบ่งออกเป็น 2 ระดับ คือ ภาษาที่เป็นทางการ (Formal) และ ภาษาที่ไม่เป็นทางการ (Informal/ Colloquial) ซึ่งคำว่าเป็นทางการ กับ ไม่เป็นทางการ หมายถึง ความสุภาพในการใช้ภาษา
