Used to express and talk about a singular object in a sentence. The rule is that it always goes before a word which starts in vowel (a,e,i,o,u).


e.g. THERE IS AN EXAM TODAY

MY SISTER'S FRIEND IS AN ENGINEER.

Used to express and talk about a singular object in a sentence. The rule is that it always goes before a word which starts in consonant (b,d,f,g,l,m,k).

e.g. OUR FRIENDS HAVE A NINTENDO SWITCH
WE HAVE A TEST WITH THE BOSS.

A

It is used to refer to something or someone who is not that close wehn refering to people or an object:

e.g THAT AC IS NOT WORKING
MY MOTHER DOESN'T LIKE THAT.

It replaces "it" for something or someone to refer to things that are close:

e.g THIS IS MY BEST FRIEND

THIS IS NOT THE BOOK I BOUGHT
