Math Response

In the revered cathedral of Nazareth Hill, the heart of Christian values intertwines with fairness and sustainable development. Mr. Jones, tasked with refurbishing the cathedral's interiors, has a 240cm carpet roll to distribute across three distinct sections: a prayer sanctuary, a fellowship room, and the grand central nave, in the ratio of 1:2:5. Notably, the fellowship room's carpet will have a 10% border, reducing its coverage. Given these constraints, how long will the carpet piece be for the central nave?

Let's explore google map

Compare the actual distance and map distance
find the proportion that you will draw in your book

26

  1. In your book, draw the shape of the map from point A to point B.

  2. Give each turning point a letter from A to Z.

  3. Measure the actual distance from one point to the next, and so on.

  4. Write these distances down.

  5. Check out how far it is from point A to point B.

  6. Write: Actual distance is... km =... cm The book has a scale: 1 cm is equal to... cm (the actual distance). Put as = 1:....

  7. From point A to point B, measure the actual distance and convert it to cm. We will figure out the distance on the paper that will be used to draw the picture this way: distance from point A to point B = 1/total distance in cm = x/distance from point A to point B in cm.

  8. Figure out x (the distance from point A to the second point on the paper) by using the ideas of proportion and cross-multiplication.

Christian Values and Clean Water in Faithville:

In Faithville, the town council, guided by Christian principles, builds wells based on households without clean water. For every 50 households, they construct 2 wells. After a seminar, they identify a new area with 125 households needing water. How many wells should the council build there to ensure fairness and uphold Christian teachings?
