An output device is any piece of computer hardware used to communicate information from the computer. The common output devices are a printer, projector, monitor, plotter, speaker and headphone.

1. They display necessary information to the user.

2. They are used to produce hardcopies and visual output from the computer.

3. They enable digital signals to be transformed into human readable forms.
