We use the FIRST CONDITIONAL to make conditional predictions about the future: If event a happens, event b probably will happen.

We will go watch the movie if there are tickets available.
If we have saved up enough money by September, we will buy a new car.

These scenarios are likely to happen and talk about particular situtations (ie. not general facts).

Conditionals are complex sentences, and as such they always have two clauses (two halves): a dependent clause and an independent clause.

Remember that in complex sentences we can choose the order that we want to say the sentence in, and the meaning stays the same.
