I can name numbers within 1 million by building

understanding of the place value chart and
placement of commas for naming base thousand
units.

● We noticed patterns in place values: ones, tens, and hundreds; thousands, ten-thousands, hundred thousands;
millions.

● To help us visually see these place values we use COMMAS

to indicate this grouping of units.
