Let's start by watching this video

Le verbe parler - the verb to speak

Parler means to speak. The "-ER" at the end means "TO"

We need to remove the -ER to talk about an action we're doing because we can't say I to speak:

Je parl
we have removed the -ER at the end,
Now we add an -E :
Je parle

Now let's try it with other actions with -ER

Chanter means to sing It becomes Je chante
Tomber means to fall It becomes Je tombe
Manger means to eat It becomes Je mange
Marcher means to walk It becomes Je marche
