It was not many more days before the trip was over. Buck was glad to see a town again. There were houses, and stores, and a flag flying. They stayed there for seven days. At night, all the dogs went out to sing at the moon. Buck went with them. For the first time in his life, he, too, cried at the moon like a wolf.
