A WH question in English is a request for information.


Wh- questions usually start with a word beginning with wh-, but "how" is also included. The wh- words are: what, when, where, who, whom, which, whose, why, and how.

What: It's used to ask for information about something or to confirm something

Who: It's used to refer to people, to discover the subject of the action

Whose: We use whose to ask who owns something.

Which: It's used to ask for an option, when there is a choice to make

Where: It's used to ask for a place or position where something is located

When: We will use this to ask for a time when something happened, it is not very specific, but it covers days, months, years, short moments of the day

Why: It's used to ask for the reason of something
