  • The policies of British were not in favour of the Indians

  • Land Revenue policies made peasants life though

  • A new class took the place of old zamindars

  • Machine made goods from Britian were cheaper, thus the traditional Indian handicrafts industry was ruined

  • Enfield Riffles - The catridge of these riffles had a greased paper around which they had to bite to load the riffle , a rumor spread that the this paper was coated by fat of cows and pigs this was against the belief of both hindus and muslims.
