6th Grade Classroom Procedures/ Non-negotiables:
1 Entering the room- Quietly, straight to seat, read the board for important daily announcements, agenda, and materials needed.
2 Materials- Have something to write with, preferably a pencil, science notebook, computer, and other necessary materials (headphones, colored pencils, etc.)
3 Computer and charger- Completely charge your computer each night
4 Absences- It is your responsibility to check in with your teachers and check OnCourse for missing assignments. If you missed a graded assignment, you will need to make it up during Independent Study

6th Grade Classroom Procedures/ Non-negotiables:
5 Bathroom- Besides an emergency or doctor’s excuse, you will be allowed to use the bathroom during non-whole group class time; E-hallpass must be completed before going
6 Talking out of turn- You must raise your hand and wait to be called on to make comments/concerns or provide answers. There are numerous opportunities each class period for discussions at our table, but shouting out will not be tolerated.
7 Science Safety Contract Obligations- All students and guardians are expected to sign the science safety contract provided to them. Students will be held accountable for meeting those expectations outlined in the contract!

Homeroom Uniform Check
ID visible around neck/clipped to shirt and shirt tucked
Proper shirt, shoes, and KDHSA outerwear
Belts are mandatory!
Non-compliance = minor infraction and disposition

School-wide hand signal
Hand up = no talking - when an adult/teacher needs the attention of everyone they will raise their hand; every student must then stop talking and raise their hand to follow and help others do the same

Transitions
Walk on the left side of the walkways and hallways in a single file line
Voice level 0
Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself
Minor infractions can be given for not following transition expectations

Recess/Lunch
Recess- Sit in your homeroom lines. No tackling. No wrestling. Physical contact of any kind between students is not allowed. Once called back/whistle blows, do not continue playing any sports, games, etc. Sit back down in your designated line.
Lunch- Open seating, raise hand to speak with an adult for any reason (water bottle refill, bathroom, issues, emergencies, etc), throw ALL trash away before leaving cafeteria, follow all guidance from ALL duty teachers; *Seats will be chosen for you if you do not meet these expectations

Dismissal at end of day
Follow transition expectations and dismiss from the backdoor of the V600 building. We will go down those stairs and follow the walkway towards the pavilion.
Car riders report to the 6th grade section in the pavilion
Walkers and bus riders go through the side gate
Walkers report to your path and bus riders report to the bus area
*Students who report to Loyola will walk along the breezeway within the gate
