Population Explosion

The world's population has doubled many times between 1950 and 2012 which indicates a great population growth known as a population explosion

If birth rates exceed death rates, population growth increases. If death rates exceed births, it decreases. When they are both equal, the population will have a zero growth rate.

• Technological improvements which resulted in better health care and living conditions.

• better food, medicine and

  the use of vaccinations.

• The development of communication and transportation which enabled governments to evacuate their citizens in case of natural disasters and provide for their needs.

​The Causes of Population Growth

• Decreasing population growth results from factors like falling fertility rates, often due to increased women's education and workforce participation.

• Other causes include increased mortality from disease outbreaks, famine, or war.

• Another significant factor is the aging population. Many high-income countries have seen life expectancy climb continuously, resulting in a bigger number of older adults.
