​Read them, write them in your notebook and identify central ideas of the Jewish faith based on the passages.

​"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one" (Deuteronomy 6:4) - This is known as the Shema, which is considered the most important prayer in Judaism. It affirms the belief in one God.

​"I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery" (Exodus 20:2) - This passage is the beginning of the Ten Commandments, which are central to Jewish faith and practice.

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want" (Psalm 23:1) - This psalm expresses trust in God's provision and protection.

"The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it" (Psalm 24:1) - This verse affirms the belief that God is the creator and owner of all things.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11) - This passage expresses the belief that God has a plan for each person's life and that it is a good plan.

"The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing" (Zephaniah 3:17) - This verse expresses the belief that God is a loving and powerful protector.

"The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made" (Psalm 145:9) - This verse affirms the belief that God is good and merciful to all people.

​"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6) - This passage expresses the belief that trusting in God and submitting to His will leads to a good and straight path in life.
