Comparative adjectives

• Add -er to most shorter adjectives to make them comparative.

• Add "more" to most longer adjectives.

• Ex: small --- smaller

• Ex: expensive --- more expensive

Superlative Adjectives

• Add -est to most shorter adjectives to form the superlative.

• Add "most" to longer adjectives

• Ex: small ---smallest

• Ex: expensive --- most expensive

DO NOT:

• Use "more" or "most" with -er or -est

• NO: MORE LONGER, MOST AMAZINGEST

• YES: LONGER, MOST AMAZING

Exceptions:

• Some adjectives have irregular comparative and superlative forms.

• Good--better--best

• bad--worse--worst

• much---more---most

• little---less---least
