2

What is mummifying a person?

A person can get mummified in two ways. In a natural way and a man-made way. The natural way is when the dead body is at the right place at the time, it will naturally become a mummy! When humans make it, it takes 70 days. Let me tell you about the steps in the next slide.

3

How do workers make mummies?

First, they remove organs, like the lungs and liver. Next, they take out the brain from the nose with a hook. After that, they wash the body and cover it with salt. Then, they leave to dry for 40 days. The workers then rub the body with scented oils. Then, they wrap the body with white linen.

4

What other mummies do they make?

Workers don't just make human mummies, they make animal mummies too! Dogs, cats, crocodiles, monkeys, and birds! Egyptians thought cats were very special. Sometimes when a cat died, an entire family would mourn its death.
