Experiment: Does having worms in soil help plants grow faster?



Adding worms to the soil helps the tomato plant in it grow more tomatoes.

Worms feed on plant debris in the soil. They then release nutrients in the soil making these extra nutrients available to the tomato plants.

The tomato plants with worms in the soil produced an average of 15 tomatoes per plant while the plants without worms in the soil only produced an average of 10 tomatoes per plant.​

Wood from hardwood trees is generally denser than wood from softwood trees so they burn for a longer time and produce more heat.

Experiment: Does the amount of air affect how high a basketball bounces?



As air is added to a basketball, it becomes more squished. This air then pushes more on the inside of the ball. With more air in the ball, the air starts

at higher pressure and pushes back that much harder when the ball is bounced.



The more inflated a basketball is, the higher it will bounce.

When dropped from a height of 3 meters, the basketball with the most air in it bounced back 2.5 meters while the basketball with theleast air bounced back only 1.5 meters high.

absorbs?

A darker shirt absorbs more heat than a light-colored shirt.



When a white shirt and a dark shirt were put in the sunshine with a thermometer underneath them, the darker shirt hit a

temperature of 140F while the light shirt only recorded a temperature of 85F.



A black object absorbs all wavelengths of light and converts them into heat, so the object gets warm. A white object reflects all wavelengths of light, so the light is not converted
