台北101 外牆是使用雙層隔熱(Double Low-E)玻璃帷幕，主要能做到隔熱的功能。

原理是內、外有雙層 10mm 清玻璃及 12mm 中空夾層，能反射陽光裡大多的紫外線＆紅外線。

夏天時可以大幅度阻擋室外 ⅔ 以上的熱源高溫，降低因日照而上升的室內溫度，可讓 101 大樓節省不少冷氣電費。

冬天時還能減少室內熱能流失，中間層的乾空氣更有防霧效果。

另外，雙層玻璃還有降低噪音功能喔！
